I loved our local sweetshop when I was young.  I spent ages in there looking at the rows of jars of brightly coloured confectionery.  They were mostly boiled sweets that used to go all sticky in my little white paper bag.  Then there were the old fashioned sweets under the counter – they were the fun sweets like sugar mice and gobstoppers.

You don’t seem to get traditional sweets like that anymore, and most of the old-fashioned sweetshops have disappeared too.  So here is my top 5 of my favourite retro sweets you can’t get anymore…
